The Orchestra is funded almost exclusively by its members who make up the Society.

The Society is run and administered by the Executive Committee, made up from playing and non-playing members, and is supported by the Orchestral Committee made up from orchestral members.

We currently have a playing membership of approximately 50 musicians - all but five or so are from the Southend area! The non-playing (Vice-Presidents, Patrons, Associate and Ordinary) membership number approximately 40. Each of our non-playing members receive a copy of our newsletter, invitations to Social functions and open rehearsals. The Associate members receive 1 ticket and the Patrons receive 2 tickets in advance for each of our concerts. Our Society is at the moment small. We rely heavily on subscriptions and help from our members, so you'll appreciate our need to expand this small society to ensure the success and future of the Orchestra.
